Our Mission
Translate discovery into clinical impact: predict resistance, improve diagnostics, and personalise therapies—toward a future with zero deaths from cancer.
Who We Are
The Melanoma and Cancer Translational Research Group (MCTRG) is a multidisciplinary team at the Charles Perkins Centre, The University of Sydney, advancing melanoma and cancer research to improve patient outcomes.
What We Do
We study resistance, build predictive tools for personalised therapies, and develop novel strategies to improve patient care.
Why It Matters
Australia has the highest incidence of melanoma globally. Immunotherapies help, but resistance, unpredictability and toxicities remain major challenges.
Our Expertise
Our team brings together medical oncology, pathology, molecular & cellular biology, spatial biology, and bioinformatics across a 28+ member team of researchers, students and operations staff.
Resources & Partners
We leverage MIA’s Biobank, Research Database, RPA pathology archives, and global collaborations to share datasets, pool cohorts, and accelerate research.
