Dr Xiaohang (Helen) Fu
Postdoctoral Researcher, Compuational Biologist

Dr. Xiaohang (Helen) Fu is an early-career researcher with expertise in developing novel computational methods with direct applications in cancer research. Her work integrates deep learning, data science, and computational biology to tackle key challenges in biomarker discovery, treatment response prediction, prognosis, and image analysis. She has established a strong track record of impactful research, evidenced by several high-impact publications in leading journals, including first-author papers in Nature Methods (PMID: 40954301) and Nature Communications (PMID: 38218939).

Her work includes designing computational frameworks that analyses spatial transcriptomics, imaging, and clinical data to map the tumour microenvironment at single-cell resolution and identify spatially organised molecular signatures associated with immunotherapy resistance. Her research aims to uncover new therapeutic targets and biomarkers to inform patient stratification and personalised treatment strategies. Dr. Fu works closely with clinicians and interdisciplinary researchers, and maintains a strong focus on developing computational tools with direct biological and clinical relevance.
